Adam Wardel
Business Executive
Adam is a business executive with experience managing complex legal, risk, and governance matters. He has achieved proven results in global expansion, acquisition integration, contract negotiation, employment and data privacy law.
Currently, he serves on two for-profit and two non-profit boards of directors and was general counsel/chief legal officer to four companies. During his career, Adam has acted as head of legal operations for companies in size from 100 employees at 4 million in revenue to 800 employees at 350 million in revenue, and he has managed business expansion into 10 foreign jurisdictions around the world through both organic means and acquisition.
Adam was 2020 Corporate Counsel of the Year for the State of Utah and currently serves as vice president or member of the Cyber Law and A.I. Law Committees for the Utah State Bar, as well as vice president for the Utah General Counsel Association.
Most important to Adam is his family and the ability he has to travel the world with them.
Camille Baird
Camille Baird didn’t start her career in a law office; she started it in a lab.
With a B.S. in Applied Physics from Brigham Young University, Camille dove deep into her quantum mechanics and nanomaterials research. That foundation took her into patent engineering, where she spent over six years drafting more than 80 patent applications spanning generative AI, machine learning, cryptography, augmented reality, and fintech technologies.
At J. Reuben Clark Law School, she paired that technical depth with a global perspective, studying international conflict resolution abroad, completing coursework in international IP law and trade frameworks, and publishing thought leadership on international IP treaty harmonization. She earned Best Oralist in the Utah State IP Moot Court Competition and has published papers on data privacy in AI-assisted legal tools.
At Lex In-House, Camille serves as both legal engineer and attorney, heading up the firm’s AI technology strategy. She designs and builds the quantum-powered systems that are at the core of how the firm operates, bringing the same rigor she once applied in a nanomaterials lab to the architecture of a modern legal practice.
Candice Baird
Candice Baird brings a rare combination of legal expertise, policy leadership, and entrepreneurial drive to everything she does.
Her legal career began at the J. Reuben Clark Law School at Brigham Young University, where she clerked in federal district court and trained as a certified mediator before going on to serve law firms in appellate work, family law, business contracts, and litigation. Grounded by a B.A. in International Relations, study abroad experience across Europe, and a background in international trade, she has always brought a global lens to everything she does.
From there, her path took her into the worlds of policy and entrepreneurship. She has co-founded and led nonprofit and consulting organizations, spending a decade advising technology companies on market positioning, business development, and growth strategy. She has negotiated contracts for multi-company startup portfolios, led pre-seed fundraising for an international energy technology company, and co-founded an AI-powered IP software startup.
That breadth of experience and vision is exactly what she brings to Lex In-House — an AI-native legal practice built for companies that are moving fast and need a true strategic partner, not just outside counsel.
